INFORMATION

• Medals will be awarded to those gymnasts who finish in the first three positions in each category.
• If all 3 runs are not performed, then no medal will be awarded.
• The winning of a medal does not imply the gymnast has attained the minimum required score (NDP 70 points), (FIG DEV 73.6 Women & 74.0 Men), to be eligible for a place in the regional team progressing to the National Semi final competition.
• The Regional team members for both the above events will be announced no later than one week after the NDP prelims/English Qualifier competition finishes.
• Coaches will inform the competition organisers on entry to the event if they have a preference for which of the above two events they wish their tumbler to considered for.
• The new Range & Conditioning set will also be part of this competition. 70% (35 points) is the minimum score required in order to qualify to the NDP Regional Team Final. This is a pass / fail score and will not be added to the score from the total of the three scoring passes. (This does not apply for English team selection)
• The new / revised tumble runs can be found on the BG website and now include a conditioning set.

QUALIFICATION

As this is a preliminary to select the Regional participants for the NDP semi final and regional team competition you should be aware of the following:

• In order to qualify for the National NDP Final, participation in the Regional Preliminaries and the Semi-Final is obligatory. Gymnasts will be expected to attend any regional training camps organised by the region. Non-attendance at the training camps may result in removal from the team.
• The TC will choose up to two Male and Female gymnasts to to represent the region in each age group at each level in National 1-5, proceeding to the National Semi-Finals, providing they have successfully completed all three runs and also achieved over 70% pass mark from the Range & Conditioning. The top 8 gymnasts per gender/level/age band from the semi-final event will be eligible for entry to the Tumbling National finals. At FIG Development Level only 1 representative will be chosen per band.
• To participate in the English Silver, competitors must be resident in England and hold a current valid UK passport.
• The TC will choose up to two Male and Female gymnasts to represent the region in each age group at each level in National 1-5, and 1 gymnast at each level in FIG Dev, proceeding to the English Silver Final providing they have successfully completed all three runs.
• Tie break rules to decide medal (and qualification) placings are given in Paragraph 21 of the competition rules
• This competition is to select the representatives of the Southern Region for the National Semi-finals and English silver Championships. If you do not intend to compete at either of these events you must inform the competition organiser before the start of the competition.
• Qualifiers to the Semi-Finals will be expected to wear the SR Tumbling attire – a regional leotard- available from the Zone, details are on the Entry Form.
• IMPORTANT - The minimum age of entry into an SRTTC competition leading to a National event is 9 in the year of competition i.e. for the 2019 South Region Prelims – date of birth 2010 or earlier.
• The timescales between the Regional Prelims and the Semi-Finals are so short that the entry fee for the Semi-Final has to be collected directly from the gymnasts’ clubs, who will be invoiced directly by the region. Clubs can then choose to collect the fees from the individual gymnasts or not.

Events

• The NDP Tumbling Team (previously called the Semi Finals) will take place on 8^th-9th June at Arena, Birmingham - £45 entry fee
• The NDP National Finals will take place on 12-14^th July at Motorpoint Arena, Nottingham- £45 entry fee
• The English Silver Championships will take place on 11-12^th May at Telford entry fee £40.
• Southern Region Tumbling Committee, this year, will NOT subsidise any gymnasts who qualify through to the National Final /English Silver
• No personal coaches will be allowed on the competition floor at the Semi final or National Finals/ English. Only officially appointed Regional Team coaches will be allowed on the competition floor at these events. The Regional TC will appoint the regional coaching team for all events.
